  1. Deep Purple To Perform BBC Radio 2 ‘In Concert’ Show. But through all those years, one thing has never changed. Playing live is the only way to capture the spirit of rock n roll music, because even 60 years after it reared its wonderful rebellious head, that’s what it still is! There is no safety net of the recording machine to ‘fix things later’ — Author: Tim Peacock.
  2. Recorded by the BBC on March 9, , this previously difficult to find live show captures the classic Mark ll version of Deep Purple in all their incendiary power. This performance -- basically the entirety of the then just released Machine Head minus "Pictures of Home" -- is easily as good, and at times better than, Made in Japan, recorded five months later.8/
  3. Nov 26,  · The purpose of the original and still available "Deep Purple In Concert" was to present two complete Deep Purple concerts by the same lineup featuring significantly different material. It succeeded, in my opinion. I'm not sure what the purpose of "Live on the BBC" was, but I am sure it doesn't succeed for my purposes/5(10).
  4. The concert was recorded for the BBC's "Sounds Of The Seventies" at the Paris Cinema in London on March 9, "Hush" Was recorded at Pye Studios, London in May, "River Deep Mountain High" was recorded in October, at De Lane Lea Studios in London/5(21).
  5. IMHO, this is the definitive Deep Purple recording. A special bonus is the treatment of some songs from Machinehead I'd not heard live before. If you like Deep Purple, buy this one I can guarentee you that you will not be disapointed it will be more like OMG!!!! OMG!!! OMG!!!/5(10).
